Dear Colleagues,

Dear compatriots,

We are not in a position to start our speeches with a long introduction. I think everything is clear and obvious. The aggression unleashed against the Republic of Artsakh continues and every day our people face new threats and new trials.

In such circumstances, our main task is to keep the state system strong, because if you have been following, you will agree with my view that after November 2020 our adversaries have been targeting the state institutions of the Republic of Artsakh - the structures coordinating the security, political and economic spheres, limiting their functions.

Also, there is no need for a long history to present the importance of our today's sitting and the necessity of the choice that awaits us. In my opinion, now we have an exceptional opportunity to achieve the kind of agreement and unity that our nation is waiting for, and that all of us, political forces and actors, are talking about at every step. I am sure that all factions have their own explanations regarding the issue of nominating a candidate for the presidency of the republic, but at the same time, I have no doubt that the approach that puts the issue above party and group interests, and the leadership of the national-state interest were above all for them.

I also consider it inappropriate to talk today about the path taken by the candidate for the post of president and his merits, since all this was accumulated precisely in order to show up in a similar situation. Our faction will vote for the candidacy of Samvel Shakhramanyan, nominated for the post of president of the Republic of Artsakh, and I urge my colleagues to do the same.
