December 8, the regular sitting of the Artsakh NA Standing Committee on Defense, Security and Law Enforcement was held.

The draft law "On Amending the Law on "Military Service and the Status of Servicemen" presented by the President of the Republic of Artsakh as a legislative initiative was discussed.

The keynote speaker was S. Arstamyan, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He presented the policy implemented in this field.

If the project is adopted, it is expected to bring the law "On Military Service and the Status of Servicemen" into line with the RA law of the same name providing servicemen and their family members and legal and social guarantees of their equals, while properly organizing the conscription process.

The draft law was developed by the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and was examined by the National Assembly expert service staff. According to the presented conclusion, the draft corresponds to the Constitution of the Republic of Artsakh.

The project was unanimously approved by the committee and will be discussed at the extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly.
