The legislature approved the draft law "On Amendments to the Law "On Temporary Disability and Maternity Allowance"".

The Law "On Temporary Disability and Maternity Allowance" states that if the average monthly salary or income used as a basis for calculating the maternity benefit of a hired or a self-employed person is less than AMD 69,620, then, while calculating the maternity benefit the average monthly salary of 69,620 AMD is taken as a basis. According to the strategic plans of the government, the law on "Minimum Wage" raises the minimum wage step by step, taking into account the state budget revenues, as a result of which a number of laws are amended accordingly. In order to avoid such a change in the law every time, it is recommended to fix that maternity benefit is calculated at the minimum wage instead of the numerical expression of the minimum wage.
