Artsakh Republic National Assembly President, Artur Tovmasyan’s Address on the 107th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide
24 April 2022

Dear compatriots,

Today all progressive humanity and Armenians around the world commemorate and incense the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. April 24 symbolizes not only the cruel fate that befell our people, but also the divine ability of our people to revive, survive and further develop.

After the Genocide our people have found strength within themselves to build the statehood that his devoted sons dreamed of. Today, despite the many and varied challenges and difficulties, its flag flies over the embassies in many countries.

The revival and triumphal procession of Armenians at the end of the 20th century was marked by the birth of the Republic of Artsakh. For more than three decades the heroic people of our state have been building their statehood.

The 3 Artsakh wars unleashed by Azerbaijan are most likely a continuation of the negative attitude and hostility of official Turkey.

We bow to the immortal memory of the Armenians who died for the defense of the motherland.

Time today put forward a new challenge and we have no other choice but to be more united, vibrant and patriotic than ever.

We have seen and overcome many difficulties with honor. I'm convinced we will overcome this one. And the advice of the day can remind us of one thing: only through our unity can we prevent the new genocide and the extermination of Armenians in Artsakh.

The annual procession should be seen as a march of reborn people, who has not forgotten what was left behind, but looks forward with confidence.

God Bless Us!
