STATEMENT
OF THE ARTSAKH REPUBLIC NATIONAL ASSEMBLE
"FREE MOTHERLAND - UCA" AND "UNITED MOTHERLAND" FACTIONS
February 21-22, the regular sitting of Euronest, which is the parliamentary platform for cooperation between the European Parliament and the six countries of the Eastern Partnership: Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, was held in Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia. This time the deputies representing Azerbaijan, Tair Mirkishil and Sultan Mammadov, also took part in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly. The clear assertion of achieving lasting peace within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and excluding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through war by Head of Delegation for Relations with the South Caucasus in the European Parliament Marina Kalyurand during the session, is welcome. The calls of the Azerbaijani delegation to open a peace zone and normalize relations are full of particular cynicism and obvious trickery. The presence of Armenian prisoners of war still held in the prisons of that country and the constant provocations by their military-political leadership at the border do not talk about peaceful intentions at all. Long-term peace in only possible with sincere motivation and equal evaluation of mutual interests. Unfortunately, Baku does not share such approaches. Accordingly, we condemn the dual foreign policy standards pursued by Artsakh and the incompatibility of words and deeds.
