Condolences on the Death of Hrant Rafik Safaryan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the NKR National Assembly

January 30, 2020, Hrant Rafik Safaryan, Deputy of the NKR National Assembly of the First and Fifth Convocations, Deputy Chief of Staff of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh passed away.


Born on August 13, 1959 in the village of Aknakhbyur of Askeran district

1966 -1974 - Studied at the eight-year school in the village

1974-1976 - Studied at the secondary school in the village of Avetaranots

1977-1982 - Studied at the Faculty of Geography of Yerevan State University

1982-1983 - Worked at the secondary school of Avetaranots village

1983-1986 - Member of the Regional Komsomol Committee

1986 - Elected first secretary of the Askeran District Committee of the Komsomol.

December 28, 1991 - Elected a deputy of the Supreme Council of the first convocation of the NKR from electoral district No 27 of Avetaranots

August 1992 - Appointed an authorized representative of the State Defense Committee of the NKR in the Askeran subarea

1999-2005 - Head of the Pension Security Control Department of the State Pension Fund of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh

2005 - 2009 - Worked in the social security field and held a number of positions

December 19th, 2012 - Based on the results of additional elections from the electoral district No 15, elected to the fifth convocation of the NKR National Assembly

June 11, 2015Appointed deputy Chief of Staff of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh 

Awarded the "For Military Service" (Decree N 18 of the NKR President on 07.05.2007), "Gratitude" (Decree N 48 of the NKR President on 01.09.2007) and for the "Liberation of Shushi" medals.

Hrant Safaryan had a great reputation for being a patriotic, honest and kind person, devoted to his work.

National Assembly expresses condolences over the untimely death of Hrant Rafik Safaryan and expresses support to all his relatives, family and friends.

His bright memory will always remain in the hearts of the people of Artsakh.
