September 7, the President of the Artsakh Republic National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan received the delegation of the Republic of Armenia National Assembly headed by Vladimir Vardanyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. Parliamentarians have arrived in Artsakh to observe the September 8 local self-government elections.
Welcoming the guests, the Head of the National Assembly highly assessed the willingness of the RA Parliament deputies to run in the Artsakh local self-government election observation mission, considering it a practical manifestation of cooperation between the two parliaments. Highlighting the holding of local self-government elections, Ashot Ghulyan noted that Artsakh is determined to form a democratically-governed government at both local and national level.
Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan reaffirmed the readiness of the delegation to carry out an observation mission throughout the country and to exchange experience in the electoral processes.
Regulations on electoral and local self-government and issues related to the cooperation of the state and legal committees of the two parliaments have also been discussed during the meeting.
Chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the Artsakh Republic Hovik Jivanyan also participated in the meeting.
