May 4, President of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan received a delegation of the "Young Men’s Christian Association" (YMCA) international organization which arrived in Artsakh, headed by Vardan Hambardzumyan, the Executive Secretary at YMCA Europe. The delegation included representatives from Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and Spain.
Welcoming the guests, the Head of the Parliament attached importance to the role of the organization, in terms of keeping and transmitting universal values in the modern world. Talking about the need for contacts and exchange of opinions among young people from different countries, Ashot Ghoulyan also noted, that the presence of the organization in Artsakh is a window into a great world, through which the local youth feels like an integral part of the world.
During the meeting the parliament leader answered to the questions of the members of the organization related to the opportunities for their expansion in Artsakh, the role of the international organizations played in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, issues related to the future of the youth of Artsakh.
Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations David Melkumyan and representatives of the Artsakh office of the organization also took part in the meeting.
After the meeting the delegation visited the National Assembly session hall and got acquainted with the structure of the Artsakh parliament.
