According to part 5 of Article 128 of the Law "NA Rules of Procedure", Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Hovik Jivanyan, made a statement.

"Only the National Assembly "Motherland" faction has nominated a candidate for the vacant position of the Human Rights Defender within the timeframes established by law. The candidate nominated by the "Motherland" faction is Artak Artyom Beglaryan. Discussion of the issue on nominating a candidate to the National Assembly will take place on October 24, at 15:00", the statement reads.
