July 6, President of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan received the former mayor of the town of Vienne in France, Jacques Remiller.
Welcoming the guest, the Head of the parliament highly appreciated the efforts and initiative of the former mayor in strengthening friendship between France and Artsakh, in particular, underlining his role in signing in 2014 the Declaration of Friendship between the Artsakh city of Hadrout and the French city of Vienne.
Jacques Remiller assured that from now on he will continue to work towards strengthening friendship, raising the level of cooperation between the two countries and establishing a final peace in Artsakh. The former mayor noted with satisfaction that the number of sister cities is growing every year, and new programs are being added to the areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the implementation of the programs of the Francophonie in Artsakh, inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation with sister cities.
A member of the Artsakh-France Friendship Circle Arthur Tovmasyan and Deputy Foreign Minister Felix Khachaturyan took part in the meeting.
