Born on September 22, 1931 in Stepanakert

1949 – Finished Stepanakert secondary school No3

1950 -1955 – Studied at Moscow Engineering-Building Institute (MISI) named after Kuibyshev (now Moscow State University of Civil Engineering)  

1955-1958 – Worked as a foreman in the Ministry of Defense Industry of the USSR in the city of Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region, then as a section chief and chief engineer in civil engineering

1958-1962 – Chief engineer at the industrial-civil regional construction of the city of Stepanakert

1962-1966 - Head of the same construction institution

He is the founder of the industrial construction in Nagorno Karabakh

1966 – He was one of those who first publicly raised the Karabakh problem. Among the five leaders of the national movement, who were was expelled from the party and expelled from Nagorno-Karabakh by the decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Azerbaijan SSR

1966 - At the invitation of the leadership of the Armenian SSR, he and his family settled in Yerevan. Until 1972 he worked as chief engineer, and then as chief of the construction department. In the same year he worked as the chief engineer of the trust

1973-1977 – Construction trust manager

August 1977 - Voluntarily returned to his homeland and was appointed director of the construction materials factory. Under his leadership for 10 years, labor productivity increased 9 times, and production 24 times

1982 - Recognized among the USSR best leaders of production workers.

 1978-1987 -The combine became the winner of the All-Union Social Competition of the branch ministry

1988 – Headed Artsakh national liberation movement

March 1, 1988 – Elected Head of the National liberation movement “Krunk”, the same month appointed Chairman of the NKAO Board of

April, 15 1988 - Head of the RSFSR government V. Vorotnikov received a delegation of representatives of Karabakh under his leadership   

November, 1988 - Arrested for active political activities as the leader of the national movement. For 18 months he has been detained in prisons in Shoushi, then in Butyrka prison (Russia). Thanks to the efforts of like-minded people, prominent politicians and human rights defenders A. D. Sakharov and G. V. Starovoitova and the all Armenian people, who demanded the release of their leader, was recognized as a political prisoner. Twice elected people's deputy of the Armed Forces of the Armenian SSR, while being in Butyrka prison, which was unprecedented case in the world practice

1990 - The European Parliament has decided to demand the release of A.Manucharov. The same demand has been made by the international human rights organization "Amnesty International", who has also assigned him the status of the last political prisoner of the USSR

May, 29 1990 - Released from custody. Bringing to criminal responsibility pursued one goal - to suppress his political activities as the Head of the national movement of Artsakh. Subsequently, all charges against him were dropped

September, 22 1991 – At the historic trip of Boris Yeltsin (Russian president) and N. Nazarbayev (Kazakhstan president) to Nagorno-Karabakh, a word on behalf of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh was given to A. Manucharov

December 1991 – Thanks to the efforts of the members the referendum and elections have been possible to hold

December 28, 1991 – Elected deputy of the NKR Supreme Council of the first convocation from Stepanakert constituency No 18  

1996г. – Forced to leave NKR and then Armenia for political reasons he was forced to leave NKR, and then Armenia

The last years of his life lived in Moscow

Died on January 4, 2008

Awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Friendship of Peoples

Actively participated in the restoration of the city of Tashkent, destroyed by the earthquake, for which awarded the medal "Excellent worker-builder of Tashkent"

For great success in the construction industry was submitted to the highest award of the USSR - the Order of Lenin and the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, but the Azerbaijani SSR decided to award him the Order of Friendship of Peoples.

Author of 32 inventions, has the title of Honored Inventor-Innovator of the USSR.

Awarded the Order "Mesrop Mashtots" (08.05.2002). Posthumously awarded the Order "Grigor Lousavorich"(16.02.2018)
