1992 - Appointed commander of the Ukhtadzor Volunteer Battalion of the first defense district of the NKR
1992-1993 - Commander of the Echmiadzin Volunteer Battalion
1993 - Appointed commander of a separate motorized rifle battalion of the 83rd Brigade in the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel
