Born on November 12, 1946 in the village of Sos, Martuni region

1964 – Finished Martuni secondary school

1964-1966 - Worker in Yerevan Worsted mill

1966 - 1970 - Studied at the Economics Faculty of the Yerevan State University and worked as an economist in the district agro management

1972-1974 - Worked in the Komsomol and Communist party organs of the Martuni region

October 1974 – Lecturer at the Stepanakert Pedagogical Institute

1985 - Defended his thesis and received a degree of candidate of economics in the Moscow Institute of Management

1986 - Received the title of Associate Professor of the Stepanakert Pedagogical Institute

1989 - Head of the socio-economic department of the special management committee of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast

April 1990 – Appointed First secretary of the Martuni Regional party committee

1991 - Head of the Planning and Economic Department and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Regional Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast

December 28, 1991 - Elected deputy of the NKR Supreme Council of the first convocation from the election district No. 67 of the village of Krasny Bazar

January 1992 - Elected Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the NKR at the first meeting of the Supreme Council

1992-1996 - Dean of the Faculty of Economics, then Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Head of the Department of Economics of the Artsakh State University

December 1996 - Member of the Government, Head of the NKR Statistical Department

November 23, 1997 - Elected deputy to the NKR National Assembly of the second convocation from the Stepanakert constituency No 12 in the additional elections

December 1997 - Elected Chairman of the National Assembly

1998 - Corresponding Member of the Russian Humanitarian Academy

June 18, 2000 - Elected deputy of the NKR National Assembly of the 3rd convocation from Martuni electoral district No. 25

July 10 - Elected chairman of the National Assembly

2000 - Received the academic title of academician

2005-2006 - Chairman of the Commission on Securities of Armenia

2006-2010 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Belarus, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to statutory and other bodies of the CIS

Since 2017 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Belarus
