NA President Ashot Ghoulyan Received Members of the France-Karabakh Circle of Friendship, Erwan Bienne and Jacques Remiller

November 28, President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan received members of the Circle of Friendship "France-Karabakh" Erwan Bienne and Jacques Remiller.

Welcoming the guests, Head of the Parliament noted that since the establishment of the Circle of Friendship the parliamentarians of the two countries had new opportunities to bring the friendly relations to a higher level. This fact, according to NA President, allow to associate high expectations with the programs of the Circle of Friendship.

"Right from the beginning of the April hostilities, we felt sincere concern and willingness of our friends from France to cooperate and support. This was reflected in their statements, speeches on different platforms, as well as visits of some of our French friends in Artsakh. Such relations can only exist among trusted friends, and we value that, "- said Ashot Ghoulyan.

Expressing his gratitude to the Chairman of the Parliament for the reception, Erwan Bienne, who is a member of the Standing Commission on Human Rights in the French National Assembly, noted that they are ready to assist the country tending to the same values, as France.

"I am very happy to be here and I am very interested in the continuity and development of the parliamentary diplomacy”, noted Erwan Bienne.

In his turn Jacques Remiller, who signed the 2014 declaration of friendship between the cities of Vienne and Hadrout, said that with every coming to Karabakh, he observes ongoing reforms in various fields.

"I'm happy to be in a country that resembles area of democracy and in which the elections are held, corresponding to the letter and spirit of the law", - said the former mayor of the city of Vienne.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues related to the development of Francophonie in Artsakh touched upon the prospects of further cooperation in the framework of parliamentary diplomacy, both in legislation and in the context of the exchange of experience.

The meeting was attended by the deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense, Security and Law Enforcement, Lernik Hovhannisyan and Joseph Papazyan, accompanying France-Karabakh Friendship Circle members.
