September 1, the Day of Knowledge, President of the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ashot Ghoulyan visited Artsakh State University.

Accompanied by the rector of the Artsakh State University Manush Minasyan and the NKR Minister of Education, Science and Sports Slava Asryan, parliament leader laid flowers at the monument and paid tribute to the students perished in the Artsakh liberation war.

Then, in the big hall the University of the Head of the National Assembly met with teaching staff and students.

Ashot Ghoulyan congratulated the participants with the beginning of an academic year and made a presentation on "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is 25 years old."

The Head of parliament summarized the achievements of the republic in 25 years, and also touched on the upcoming tasks and actions.

"We have declared independence to be able to protect our freedom. Proclamation of the Republic has happened in the frames of international norms and legislation, and Artsakh today in terms of its formation and norms of democracy surpasses even certain recognized countries" - noted Ashot Ghoulyan.

At the end of his speech, the Leader of the National Assembly urged the students to effectively use the years of study and noted that today more than ever there is a demand for people with constructive mind and creative thinking, knowledge and innovative ideas.
